ACARINES

  • The journal of the Egyptian Society of Acarology.

ACARINES is issued twice a year, and publishes original refereed scientific papers in all areas related to acarology.
The scope encompasses biology, ecology, taxonomy and toxicology.
Papers are published in English language.

  • Editors:

  • Guide for authors:
    Contributed papers of the society members will be published at their own expenses. A publication fee of L.E. 250 for Egyptians or $ 100 for others to be paid for each paper, at its submission to the society.

  • Manuscript submission:
    Papers must be concise and avoid repetition. Submit manuscript in triplicate, typed double spaced (single spaced for abstracts, footnotes, keys, tables and figure captions). Include a computer diskette version of the manuscript following (JESA) protocol. Tables and figures should be compiled in separate sheets.
    Papers are arranged as follows: Title, Author's name (s) and address (s), Abstract, key words, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, Acknowledgement (if any), References, Tables, Figure legends and Figures.
    Headings:
    Title, full name (s) of author (s) in capital letters and affiliation (s).
    Abstract:
    Abstract should not exceed 250 words and contains main points of the study including methods, results and conclusion.
    Key words:
    Select 5 to 8 key words.
    References:
    (a) Authors within the text, family name followed by the year; Zaher & Rasmy (1970). (b) under references: authors in alphabetical sequences, papers of individual authors arranged chronologically. Cite all authors and full title; abbreviate periodicals according to the world list of scientific periodicals. Examples:-
    Zaher, M A. and Rasmy, A. H., 1970. A new species of the genus Tuckerella from U.R.E. Acarologia, 11 (4): 730-732.

  • Numerals should be used before standard units e.g. 12 kg., 11 days, 40 hr., otherwise, use words for numbers from one to ten and numerals for numbers larger.
    When paper is accepted author has to submit a computer disk containing the final version of the paper together with the final manuscript to the Editorial Office.

  • Off prints:
    Ten off prints of each article will be provided free of charge
